About this dataset, coverage, and privacy safeguards

This database combines three machine-readable open datasets: Research Ireland Grants Commitments and Science Foundation Ireland Grants Commitments (published on data.gov.ie under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0) and the Irish subset of the European Commission CORDIS EU Horizon research project dataset. Recipient names are matched deterministically against TenderWatch supplier profiles and Companies Registration Office (CRO) records.

What is not included: Enterprise Ireland, the 31 Local Enterprise Offices, SEAI, and Sport Ireland do not currently publish unified row-level CSV or JSON grant recipient registers on data.gov.ie. Active application schemes for those agencies are tracked separately in our Irish Business Grants Directory.

Privacy and GDPR: Only corporate bodies, higher-education institutions, and research organisations are indexed in this directory. Sole-trader natural person records in EU Horizon and individual principal investigator names are excluded from recipient rows.
