Summary
Beaumont Hospital intends to purchase three Olympus ENF-VT3 Rhino-Laryngo Videoscopes from Olympus Ireland. For clinical reasons, and in order to ensure optimum treatment outcomes on behalf of its patient cohort, Beaumont Hospital requires Rhino-Laryngo Videoscopes that are compatible with existing equipment, provide high levels of diagnostic accuracy and have unique treatment features .
These Videoscopes incorporate four-direction angulation capability which has dramatically improved the approach process, this angulation in four-directions is possible using just one hand, allowing the other hand to simultaneously manipulate a therapeutic accessory. These Videoscopes also allow for Narrow Band Imaging that enhances the visibility of vessels and other tissue on the mucosal surface.
Beaumont Hospital’s clinicians have identified the equipment in question as the optimum technology to safeguard the healthcare outcomes of the Hospital’s patient cohort. Consequently, in accordance with Article 32(2)(b)(ii) of Directive 2014/24/EU, competition is absent for technical reasons and the award of this contract to Olympus Ireland without a competitive process is permitted by the procurement regulations.
Beaumont Hospital undertakes that no contract shall be awarded to Olympus Ireland for the supply of these items until a period of fourteen days has elapsed, commencing on the day after the date of publication of this notice at European level.
