Contract Award Notice
As Gaeilge: Fógra Dámhachtana Conartha
Also known as: CAN, Award Notice
Last reviewed April 2026
The notice published after a contract is signed, naming the winner and the value — published on eTenders and TED.
A Contract Award Notice (CAN) is published within 30 days of contract signature for above-threshold procurements. It records the winning supplier, the contract value, the number of bidders, and a summary of the award rationale. CANs are searchable on eTenders.gov.ie and TED, and form the basis of award-data analysis (market share, repeat-winner patterns, framework drawdowns). For unsuccessful bidders, the CAN combined with the standstill-period debrief is the best source of intelligence on why a competitor won.
