Using eTenders: what you need to know
eTenders is the Irish Government's official e-procurement platform at etenders.gov.ie. Public sector buyers in Ireland are required to advertise contracts above certain thresholds here, so if you supply to the public sector it is where you register to receive alerts and submit tenders. Registration is free.
CPV codes and alerts. When you register, you can set up email alerts filtered by CPV codes (the EU procurement taxonomy). Getting your CPV codes right is the single most useful thing you can do after registering, because alerts based on broad codes generate noise while codes that are too narrow miss relevant notices. Our CPV code finder lets you search the full 9,000-code vocabulary.
Search and filter. The portal has a search bar and category filter, but it shows only currently advertised notices. If a notice has closed, it moves off the active list even though the award may be months away. This is why Tenderwatch tracks status and closing dates from TED independently: you can see what is closing this week across the full open set without logging in.
How to bid. For a step-by-step walkthrough of registration, profile setup, responding to an ITT, and what to send with a tender submission, read the complete guide to eTenders Ireland.

About this data
Tenderwatch is an independent service. Tender data is sourced from Tenders Electronic Daily (TED) via the TED Search API and refreshed daily. TED is an official EU data source but is a secondary publication: notices appear on eTenders first, then on TED within 1–3 days. Deadline times are unreliable; always check the official notice on etenders.gov.ie before submitting. Open count: 497 notices as at the most recent build.
