Summary

The proposed project is a facilities enhancement that will be completed over several phases to improve key areas across the facility, including the lower ground floor atrium, mortuary, catering, and changing room facilities, creating a more functional, welcoming, and efficient environment for staff, visitors, and service users. The serving area will be reconfigured to improve operational flow during peak service times, while the coffee dock will be relocated to a central position within the atrium to operate as an accessible self-service facility.

The atrium will be redesigned with improved aesthetics, new seating arrangements, flooring and natural design elements to create a comfortable environment that supports relaxation and social interaction, including a designated staff dining area. The design will also incorporate noise reduction measures and energy-efficient solutions, creating a more vibrant and welcoming environment while ensuring the space remains accessible and flexible, including the ability to host events.

In addition, the education area, oratory, reception area, library, and additional hot desks will be upgraded with improved furniture, signage, and wayfinding to create a more welcoming and professional environment for staff, students, residents and visitors.
